Rustic Elegance: All about barn weddings

Not all weddings are taking place between four walls. Outdoor ceremonies and barn receptions have become increasingly popular. This countryside trend is adorned with beautiful details. With infinite possibilities for stunning photos and room for hometown flair, planning a barn wedding involves quite a few factors. It can be easy to think about what to wrap in burlap or hang from the wood rafters, but what is more difficult is remembering the logistics of an outdoorsy location. Here are a few tips.

Have a back up budget plan to rent tables, chairs and other decor, for some barn venues come with…just the barn.

Provide guests with necessities to take on nature. Flip-flops for mud or uneven ground and fans for that July afternoon are a must.

Make sure your bathrooms are not outhouse rustic. 🙂

And lastly, don’t forget the bug spray.

Try not to get too caught up in the nitty-gritty of your rural affair. The barn venue can add the perfect charm to your special day.

Cheers to your country fairy tale and happy wedding!

All the vendors we worked with were absolutely amazing! We received so many compliments on how good our cake was! Our wedding cake looked fabulous and all the guys raved over the KC Arrowhead. Everyone loved my bouquet! Our photographer Kacy was amazing! She made the day fun and laid back. I can’t count the number of compliments we received on her personality! Our food was great, everyone kept complimenting the mac and cheese. I never got to try it being so busy! The guests had so much fun with the photo booth. The DJ was fun and interactive and did an amazing job keeping a schedule going for the evening! The linens and props were beautiful! My most favorite part of the venue was the outdoor area where the ceremony was held. Oh, you can’t forget the carriage, that was perfect and so much fun!

Venue: Prairie Rose Chuckwagon

My dress and the bridesmaids dresses all came from The White Dress.

My only advice…

Things will go wrong on your wedding day and the few days leading up to your big day! There is NO doubt about that.

Don’t stress it though. Focus on your day, it boils down to you and your groom. Have fun and enjoy it because it goes by SO fast!

Lindsey Brazil: Featured White Dress Bride

Lindsey + Cody

September 10, 2016 couldn’t have been a more beautiful day at Emma Creek Barn in Hesston, Kansas. The bridal party traveled to and from their destination in style, riding in Lindsey’s parents’ RV. Lindsey walked down the isle in a stunning fit-and-flare Allure gown with lace detail and a high neckline to her groom in a grey tuxedo from Men’s Warehouse.

“I also bought my bridesmaids dresses at The White Dress along with my hair piece and veil. The White Dress was always so helpful when I would come in and have questions. Their alterations department (Barbara Riggs) was very good,” Lindsey explained.

The venue came together perfectly, with an outdoor ceremony in front of the timeless red barn and an indoor reception afterwards full of family, friends, fun and food catered by Blue Moon. The bright pink and orange bouquets with accents of navy from The Flower Factory completed the entire look.

“The vintage rentals were from Endless Treasures. They were a blast to work with and their storage area was so fun to look through and pick furniture from!”

Each moment was beautifully captured by Vance Frick Photography, and DJ Another Dimension got the party started at the reception.

The tables sported linen from The Table Guys and an elegant cake created by Cheri’s Bakery.

Addison Grace Events helped the whole day flow with ease.

Mrs.McCall provided some words of advice saying, “One thing I would suggest to any bride newly engaged would be to find a good wedding planner. Even if you think its too expensive and won’t fit in your budget they can help you to save money and know what to do when.  Addison Grace did a FABULOUS job and helped make my day everything and more than I could have EVER dreamed of. On the day of the wedding, plan a day of pampering. Get someone to help set up for you instead of being overwhelmed by setting up yourself the day of.”

Congratulations Lindsey and Cody!
